Seattle Cheese Festival. Probably the best day of my life.

Seattle Cheese Festival. Probably the best day of my life.

Aaron gave me my birthday presents a week early!!!
He paid attention to my sizes, favorite colors, things I coveted at Road Runner and everything I said I wanted in a hydration belt. I’m speechless!

THIS RACE HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION.
As seen at Road Runner. Ran 1.5 to get here and meet up with DetermiNation; ran 4.5 around Green Lake; now about to run 1.5 back to Aaron’s place.
I’m my new favorite mode of transportation.
I was tagged by westcoastrunner to do the “10 things about me” thing that’s spreading around Tumblr, so I jumped on the bandwagon with a video! Except I only did 9 things because I accidentally skipped #5. Whoops!
If you suffer through the whole thing make it until the last minute, you’ll get some hints about what I’m giving away in the raffle I’m launching on Monday! And please note that I misspoke about YOU being lucky to be able to win the prizes… I’M certainly the lucky one if even a single person decides to participate and support the American Cancer Society!!!

Seattle is pretty darn cool. On 3rd Ave.

Blood orange. One of the creepier fruits.
Thank you, anonymous! You’ve made me smile today : )
Smile Friday challenge: Make someone else smile! Tell your spouse he/she is looking extra-fine, tell a co-worker you enjoyed his/her presentation, tell your kid you’re proud of him/her, make an extra effort to compliment someone’s workout on Tumblr – whatever!
Be generous with your kindness. Even a little something can give someone a huge boost for the entire day.

Modern and vintage
Aaron met me at the delicious frozen yogurt place by Green Lake last night, which happens to be right by the Body Pump gym : ) Conveeenient!
He parked behind another Mini. His is the mini Mini.
It felt great to run to Body Pump! Because I took the most direct route from my house, I went up a huuuge hill. Crazy steep. I’ll take a picture of it sometime, since it’s right in my neighborhood. I had to walk stagger up much of it, and as a result, my first mile took nearly 12 minutes. The second mile was 9:22 though!
Body Pump is very interesting. I was expecting more of a step-aerobics-type cardio class with hand weights, but it was more of a lifting class with less emphasis on cardio. We used barbells with weights and did sets of exercises that worked different muscles — squats, dead lifts, bicep curls, bench presses, crunches, etc. The toughest were the squats, but probably because I had just run.
Side note: The instructor was a ripped eastern European woman named Ola. She had an awesome accent.
The 45-minute class flew by because of the fun music and how interested I was in learning all the moves. I’ll definitely be sore tomorrow. Can’t wait to go back next Thursday now that I know what to expect!

Pre-Friday notables (FYI, there is no such thing as “Thursday”):
* I cleaned myself up for the SECOND time in one week, meaning I straightened my hair, put on makeup AND wore a non-t-shirt shirt. This may look like a t-shirt, but it’s linen, which automatically makes it dressier than 99% of my wardrobe. Win.
* I received EXTREMELY awesome news at work today — news that let me know my hard work is definitely appreciated!!! Hence the thumbs-up, whoop whoop! Double win.
* I decided to RUN to my first free Body Pump class tonight, as the most direct route is only 2.75 miles in length, and thus I shall feel awesome by running instead of driving. Triple win.
Off I go! I’ll report back after my Body is Pumped (hmm, sounds gross).
