Feeling MUCH better than yesterday after a solid night of sleep! Ready to tackle 3 miles tonight… gonna try to make ‘em fast.
Also, dug up this cardigan from my years of college J. Crew employment to try to compensate for when I sometimes roll into work rocking a t-shirt and wet hair. I think this is how normal people usually dress?
After feeling exhausted yesterday and taking a two-hour nap instead of doing 50 minutes of cross-training, then feeling very nauseous for nearly two hours at work this morning before finally eating some Cheerios and making a triumphant comeback to later stomach my lunch, I’ve decided to skip my planned three-mile run tonight.
That was the world’s longest, most convoluted excuse. I stand by it.
Friday (housewarming party) and Saturday (friend’s birthday dinner party) were both late nights, and Saturday-day (4.5 mile run) and Sunday-day (go-karting for my big bro’s birthday) were energy-sucking. My allergies have been acting up (hello, spring!) and I’ve felt more miserable today than I have since my last major illness (which, ick, was not all that long ago).
As much as I hate to skip tonight’s run, I’d rather recover a bit and give my all the rest of this week’s workouts than overextend myself tonight and then half-ass the whole week.
Healthy dinner. Early to bed. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. That’s the plan!

Friday night: My roomies and I threw our housewarming party, nearly three months after actually moving in. Three months later, I’m still the weird one.
Fun fact: Aaron picked out that purple top as I hastily shopped for something to wear on Friday afternoon when I realized my roommates were not also planning to wear “just a t-shirt.” Ross, $8.99. He wins!

It’s gorgeous and sunny in Seattle!
Ready to go get 4.5 miles in my stunna shades.

Smile Friday: “Woke up, showered and got out the door within 15 minutes” edition.
Darn my cozy bed!! This is as good as it’s gonna get.

My training plan called for 2 miles + strength, but I decided to skip strength since I’ll be cleaning our bathrooms tonight (which’ll take strength!). Midway through my planned two-miler along the Fremont canal, the gorgeous sunset and cool evening air convinced me to make it three. I love, love, love running outside.
Much to the chagrin of TanaDoesLife and myself, the lovely new splits feature on the Nike+ Web site has disappeared! I found a thread in the Nike+ forum about it and the response from the official Nike+ forum moderator was this:
“Hi folks,
Thanks for letting us know you noticed the split feature on your Nike+ GPS runs last week, liked the feature, and wanted it back. I’ve relayed your impassioned pleas to our site team.
The feature was unintentionally deployed before it was fully ready, and I’m hopeful that we’ll be able to bring back that feature, or something very similar, as the site continues to evolve!"
Booooo. Why is a feature so basic taking so long for such a huge company to launch?
I love my Nike+ because it’s small, basic and easy to plug right into my computer, but I’ll probably look into getting a Garmin at some point. It would be nice to have both to choose from, depending on what type of run I plan to do. If anyone has used both a Nike+ and a Garmin and has thoughts on the pros/cons of each, please let me know!
“ALL,
In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, there will be free BEER so you can make yourself a “Black and Tan”. If you are not familiar with this drink, you fill half your glass with pale ale and then a dark beer on top, using a spoon – the “pub” will open at 3:45pm today in the Café on 20th floor, and instructions on how to get the right blend will be posted.
Compliments of [the CEO].”

I forgot to wear green today (oops!), but here’s a shot from St. Patty’s 2009. I didn’t have anything green to wear at the time, but luckily my roommate let me borrow this gem of a t-shirt!
I’ll be running 2 miles tonight and cleaning up the townhouse in preparation for our housewarming party (it’s March… we moved in back in December), but have fun if you’ll be out celebrating with green beer!!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I’m excited to announce the winner… make that WINNERS… of my blog anniversary giveaway.
If you entered the giveaway, you’re probably gonna wanna check it out… : )
