GPOW: “Sophomore in High School” edition.
I think I’m 15 in this photo. I was definitely a sophomore in high school, because I remember this was the look I rocked to go to the SENIOR prom.
Try not to be too impressed that I was asked to the senior prom as a sophomore. Who could resist those braces??

I ordered this exact purple shirt/white text combo on Friday!!! Yayyyy, we’ll be west coast twins!
Aaaand I’m just gonna tack a quick running update onto this…
Track Tuesday: Did a 4 mile tempo in 35:33 – 8:53 pace. What whaaaat? My coach’s exact words: “You’re going to kick ass in this race.”
And with that, I bid you good night. : D
LOVE LOVE LOVE the purple….just what I needed in the mail today to give me some motivation and to get my ASS moving!! (Taken with picplz.)

Eastern Washington has some crazy clouds!
Back in Seattle today. I have a three-day work week, then I’m off to Portland Friday through Monday for a conference. Not a conference for work – just for me!
I’ll try to find time to do an 8-mile run in PDX. Any route recommendations, Portlanders? I’m staying downtown, right along the Willamette River!

Aaron and I are in Kennewick for the weekend, staying with his dad and stepmom. Eastern Washington is beautiful in such a different way than Western Washington! There’s lots of sun, rolling hills and a more deserty climate than the rainy area west of the Cascades. We are loving the sun!!
We did our first 10-mile run yesterday in 1:40 – 10:00 pace. We stopped at a gas station 5 miles in for a refreshing Powerade/energy bar fix. We ran past cows and horses in the hot sun… we weren’t in Seattle anymore!
Aside from my knees hurting a bit near the end, I felt good about the run and our pace. Less than one month to go till my first half-marathon!!
P.S. Just booked a trip! Aaron and I will be in NYC Sept. 30 through Oct. 3!!

Note the stickers. Note the license plate. Coincidence??

Some pics Coach Rose took at Body Pump last night. I’m in the purple top.
(I was smiling on the inside.)

I ate this right after my 15K last weekend and it was the bomb diggity (technical term).
Strawberry-pineapple smoothie with soy milk and chia seeds in a bowl, topped with Kashi Go Lean Crisp Toasted Berry Crumble.
You get the refreshment of a smoothie AND the crunch/heartiness of cereal. You get to use a spoon AND a straw.
Credit goes to Meghann at Meals and Miles for the yummy smoothie/cereal combo idea! It’s a new fave!

Look who came to Body Pump tonight!!
We had margaritas and Mexican food afterward with Coach Rose and the other DetermiNators. So fun!

Half cup of oats, 1 cup water, 1 Tbsp chia seeds, lots o’ berries. A typical breakfast!
I’m very hungry first thing in the morning and never skip breakfast. Today, I took it to a new level, as I ate some cereal WHILE making the oatmeal. I was THAT hungry.
Stay outta my way once I start marathon training. I can only imagine the hunger…
