This one’s for my mom – she loves a good lighthouse.
It must be stunning when it’s sunny, but it’s obviously more badass when it’s windy and stormy.

Sometimes, when you hang out with someone for five days in a row (holy crap, just realized that) and borderline start dating, you end up dressing alike by accident. Ehh, it’s all the same under a disco ball anyway.
Awesome last night out in Melbourne with Liz, Charles, Joseph and some other guy named Matt (not pictured).

Another day, another airport!
Leaving Melbourne in a few minutes to fly back to Sydney, where I’ll catch an overnight Greyhound bus to Byron Bay (sweet beach).
I used to take pics like this in my office bathroom all the time, and more often than not while wearing one of my fave v-neck t-shirts.
Some things never change. Still a dork no matter where I go. : )
Hey, remember when I awkwardly pranced around modeled for a Brooks runway show back in November? (Here’s the full story behind that — it’s a good one.)
Brooks offered a “swag bag” as compensation for participating in the show, but I never received one… until today!
OK, so my mom received it at her house in Washington, but she was kind enough to take pics of the goods and send them to me. So excited to get my hands on this stuff in a few months when I swing back through the States — especially that jacket!!

The iPhone pic makes many of the items look reddish-orange, but they look more like magenta on the Web site. We shall see!
Clockwise from top left:

D’Lite Mesh Tank
Run Happy EZ T
Versatile 3.5" Woven Short
Seamless Arm Warmers
LSD Lite Jacket II
I’m overwhelmed. Thank you, Brooks!!
I am thankful for adventure.
I am thankful for sun, sand and sangria.
I am thankful for old friends who make me feel at home on the other side of the world — that’s my hometown friend Charles above, and he’s taken me in with such incredible hospitality.
I am thankful for new friends who open their hearts wide and share laughs, stories, fruity beverages and picnic lunches with unfailing openness and warmth (I’m looking at you, Liz).
I am thankful for the opportunity to live my life to its fullest.
I was going to post a bunch of sunny, happy photos of the last few days in Melbourne. Then I got a very sad email — my uncle lost his battle with cancer.
Here, on the other side of the world, I want more than anything to be able to hug my mom. My heart hurts.
Update: Thank you for the kind words. Rob wins for explaining how to Skype call my mom, and now I’m just Skype calling/chatting with everyone I miss back home and feeling much, much better.

Sangria by the beach with Liz.

This happened.
New, delicious travel post: Foodie Heaven at Taste of Sydney
(Fair warning: If the idea of eating animal testicles freaks you out, do not proceed. Do not pass GO, do not collect $200.)

Pretty legit for an airport meal!
At Sydney Airport, heading to Melbourne shortly.
