Aaron did awesome!! The 0.5-mile swim was his weakest leg, but he did great on the 12-mike bike ride and 3.1-mile run!
I have no idea of his time, but we’ll find out soon. I got tons of great pics and will post them later!
Yayyyy, Aaron!!!

Yayyyy, Aaron!!!

Picture of a picture! How cute is he???
He’ll be in the water in the next 15-20 min. or so.

Very excite!!!

OK, so that’s only like 485.3 miles of running over the next 19 weeks.

This photo from right after this morning’s 8-mile run really represents my post-run priorities:

Remove fuel belt, Garmin, shoes and socks. Chug more water. Immediately make a smoothie. Immediately drink the smoothie.

And, yum.
Then, it was off to pick up Aaron’s packet for his first triathlon.

He got marked up with his race number and age, since tomorrow morning will be busy enough without having to worry about that.

I got marked up, too. : D

My post-run hunger kicked in, so we picked up some Chipotle and soaked up the sunshine at Gas Works Park. Yummmm.

Then we headed over to Aaron’s version of Disneyland: the tri store!
It’s called Speedy Reedy, although I’m not too sure why…?

Aaron picked up a tri top, tri shorts, goggles and some fuel. I snapped this nice tri-suit edition of the creepy fitting-room photo:

I felt like a badass just trying it on! Triathons are definitely in my future. Possibly even this year. We shall see.
Tomorrow, Aaron will complete a sprint triathlon with no tri training (he signed up for the race on Tuesday) and a broken hand (he gets his cast on Monday). I’m super excited to cheer him on and take pictures.
I think he’s gonna kill it!!!

8 miles done!
1:23:00, 10:21 pace.
Ran 6.5 of it with one of my best friends, Carly, and her friend Jessica. Carly’s also doing the Labor Day Half, woo-hoo!
What a beautiful sunny morning to run in Seattle! (Sorry for the horrible heat the rest of you are suffering through…)
Aaron: Why doesn’t Harry have that phoenix instead of his stupid owl?!
Me: Well, the owl delivers his mail.
Aaron: That phoenix can cry tears of healing juice! I think he can probably deliver mail on the side.

Fact: Aaron is the ping-pong champ of our company.
Most of his lunch breaks look like this. It’s totally exercise, the way he plays.
He plays for keeps.

I’m wearing this dress today (with a sweater) because it’s finally kinda SUNNY! I was starting to think summer was too mainstream for Seattle.
H&M, $12.95. Word.

My friend Steve Kamb at Nerd Fitness wrote a big, long post about his friend Staci’s fitness success story. I say “fitness” success story instead of “weight loss” success story because she initially lost a ton of weight through cardio/starving herself and was super weak at 117 lbs., then packed on healthy muscle through weight-training/Paleo eating and now looks AMAZING at 142 lbs.
It just goes to show you that weight is just a number, and a higher number can be better if it’s the right kind of weight!
Check out Staci’s great story at Nerd Fitness to learn more and get majorly inspired!
