Sweet potato gnocchi with butter and sage. Simple salad.
Half of that gnocchi is waiting in the fridge for tomorrow’s lunch. Could’ve crushed it all today, but the anticipation is better.

Click here to check out the Do Life: Seattle photos that Aaron and I took at Saturday’s meetup!
Feel free to take ‘em, use ’em and throw some links and outrageous compliments to Aaron Pass and yours truly.
Seriously, it was great meeting all of you guys there. Enjoy the photos!

I’m in love.
Lately I’ve been experiencing shin pain while running – something that hasn’t bothered me since I very first started running – and I realized that my shoes were completely shot. On the advice of a Seattle Do Lifer (robscomeback, perhaps?), I spent some quality time at Super Jock ‘n’ Jill tonight and found myself a new lover: a pair of Brooks Defyance 4 shoes.
I took them to the gym for 3 pain-free miles in 29:13. For the first time in a while, I felt “in the zone” and basked in all the ways I love running. I can’t wait to take them outside. I’m stupid-happy right now.
And, hey, the Do Life: Seattle video is thisclose to hitting 2,000 views. Word!

Ahhh… errr… hmmm…
Google, ladies and gentlemen.
I’ve officially signed up to run and raise money with the American Cancer Society’s DetermiNation team for the Seattle Rock ‘n’ Roll half marathon this June! I’m excited to train with a group and a knowledgeable coach, as well as contribute to a great cause.
The team has officially been training since early February, but I’m jumping into my first team run this coming Saturday at 8 a.m. I’ve been training on my own for my first 10K in April. The run on Saturday is 7 miles. Hmmmm.
The coach emailed me the training schedule today and it is in.ti.mi.dating. I feel like I’m way behind and everyone will know it. I’ve been doing kinda lousy tempo runs and speed intervals on the treadmill rather than legit training runs at the track. I’ve been snoozing peacefully on Saturday mornings rather than knocking out long runs.
But I bet everyone will be nice and welcoming. Nobody will make me feel dumb or behind the group. And once I get my very own DetermiNation shirt, I’ll blend right in with the pack, running full speed ahead to my very first half marathon.
Yay, Courtney, way to get a Tumblr! Thank you for participating in the video 🙂
I will put ALL the pics Aaron and I took at the meetup on a Flickr or Photobucket account tonight (I forget which one I already have…) and post the link on Tumblr for everyone who may be interested. Feel free to grab pics as you wish and post them on your blogs, and maybe link to Aaron and me, but mostly Aaron because his pics are cooler.
Also, feel free to mention how good-looking Aaron is, and how awesome I am at badminton.

Aaron has such a gift for capturing moments like this.
I look at this photo and see sweetness. Happiness. Love. Love. Love.
Thought I would throw up a shot from a past wedding I shot. This was one of my favorites from the shoot.
If anyone is looking for wedding photography, please contact me at aaronpass@gmail.com and we can discuss it further. Thank you!
Here it is! The Do Life: Seattle video. Filming by the extremely talented Aaron Pass. Editing by me. Song by Band of Horses (“The Great Salt Lake”). Awesomeness by everyone who participated in the meetup.

Y’all come back in July, you hear?
First of all, “Oh heyyyyy!” to my new followers! You guys rock. I will be rewarding you VERY soon with an awesome video about the Do Life: Seattle meetup.
I spent all morning editing it and it’s currently uploading to the Internets. Since it’s HD, it takes a while. I’ll post it on Tumblr ASAP.
I don’t wanna toot my own horn about how epic this video is, but I will toot Aaron Pass’s horn because I ended up using all of his shots and he did some incredible work. It doesn’t hurt that he’s a pro photographer, can crush a 5K in 22 minutes, does a killer Ron Burgundy impression (wait for the video…) and is really, really, ridiculously good-looking.
If you’re in the Seattle area and need some photos taken – engagement, wedding, maternity, senior portraits or just some awesome shots of you running (see below) – holler at aaronpass@gmail com. Or just follow him because he’s ridiculously good-looking.

Aaron makes Ben look good: Part II. (See Part I here.)
Get excited for the video!!

Thanks for the great meetup this morning!
