Got off work early.

Made dark-chocolate-chip pancakes for lunch (because that’s totally normal).

In my happy place (the hammock).

Reading Runner’s World.

Soakin’ up sun.

Sippin’ on nuun.

Going for my last pre-half run later (an easy 3).

Ain’t nothin’ much wrong with all this.

Smile Friday.

I’m late for Gun Show Thursday, but since I took this pic last night (after an hour in the pool, no big deal) it works!

My guns are made of guts!

(Note: Curling-iron burn near the wrist. Yowww!)

Oh, I’m running a half-marathon on Monday and I’M NOT NERVOUS. I feel like that’s either a bad sign and something will go horribly wrong, or a sign that I’ve trained so well and feel so strong that there’s no need to worry.

Let’s go with that last theory, yeah?

Hill repeats like a boss

Oh, how I love my Garmin! Look at those pretty hill repeats!

I did three fast miles (8:52, 8:47, 8:51) and then ran another half-mile to a nice, big hill near my house. It’s one of those hills that has ridged sidewalks to help you walk up it (if you’re just strollin’) or run up it (if you be trainin’ like a boss).

I meant to do 10 repeats, but now I see that I did 11. I lost count near the end because I got bored and started thinking about something else!

I also did these in the dark, since I procrastinated tonight and left my house at 7:45. So that was fun.

5 miles total in 48:15. My schedule called for 6 miles, but my knees called for 5.

The knees win, every time.

I took a rest day yesterday. Felt exhausted from the weekend’s activities and also felt a little under the weather.

So I grabbed some quality hammock time and watched the sunset.

(It was way prettier than this cell phone photo, obviously. But I think no matter how good a photo is, sunsets are best viewed in real life anyway.)
