First post-marathon run!

“The only thing that ever sat its way to success was a hen.”

That quote was featured on the sign of a local business that I run by on the way to my favorite trail, and it couldn’t have been more perfect to mark my first post-marathon run.

This whole week, I’ve done absolutely nothing for exercise. I’ve sat, I’ve slept, I’ve shuffled around my townhouse in fuzzy slippers, I’ve elevated and iced and rested my weary legs.

They started feeling back to normal on Thursday, and oh, I danced the night away at a bar on Friday. I guess that counts as exercise, especially since I jumped up and down like a dancin’ fool at one point.

Anyway. I went for a run along my lovely waterfront trail this morning.

I felt out of shape after mile 3, and overall the run left me worn out. Really? After only a week??

4:15:10. OK, now I feel better.

I need to put together a fake training plan just to have a running schedule. I have zero desire to run another race (at the moment…), but if I don’t have a plan, I won’t do anything.

Since I’m willfully FUNemployed until February, when I’ll leave for my trip, I have lots of free time. Might as well run!

And maybe I’ll sneak in a half-marathon or something silly like that before I go. You know me.
