Happy Friday! Free (work-provided) apple with almond butter and tomato-basil hummus for second breakfast.

My co. spoils us by providing a LOT of free food: apples, grapes, single servings of cheddar and string cheese, yogurt, a variety of cereals and oatmeal, granola bars, nuts, pretzels, orange juice, milk, soymilk, etc. Also, bottled water (sparkling and still) and canned soda (ick).

Gotta keep the worker bees happy! I stick to an apple-a-day and possibly a granola bar. I’ll snag a handful of Cinnamon Toast Crunch if I’m feeling grumpy, because it’s DELICIOUS.

Bike ride and TJ’s!

Went for a hour-long ride with Aaron as the sun went down in Seatown. It was my first bike ride in nearly three years! We rode on the Burke-Gilman trail, which is nice and flat and paved, so it was good. Definitely a good ride that worked out different muscles in my legs than running does — hence cross-training!

My legs felt tight on my run last night (3 miles, 29:10), so hopefully this ride helped loosen them up and I can go back at it tomorrow night.

P.S. DO NOT GO to Trader Joe’s when you’re hungry!! Aaron and I got anything and everything we craved, including lobster sushi, mac and cheese, fish and chips, sweet potato gnocchi and chocolate milk. We’re not eating ALL that tonight… but most of it.

Chocolate milk saves lives.

GPOYW

This GPOYW is a two-parter to show that I’m not a freak, since the second photo is kind of freaky.

Part 1: Standing normally.

Part 2: Caught in mid-landing after jumping off that rock for a super-cheesy photo. (Ignore the gross facial expression and red marks on my shoulders from the skydiving harness).

HOLY QUADS. Not exactly ladylike, but they were carved out by miles and miles of pavement, so I’ll take ‘em.

Sunday morning, me, a coworker of mine and her husband met up for her maternity photos. This is my first time photography maternity shots and I would have to say, I am really happy with how they turned out. All of these were shot at the Arboretum in Seattle, WA. It was not the best time of year to go there to shoot as the ground was pretty muddy in spots, but it wasn’t raining and the light was great.

Love, love love! You must click through to see the tiny Converse shoes… ahhh!

Executive decision…

After feeling exhausted yesterday and taking a two-hour nap instead of doing 50 minutes of cross-training, then feeling very nauseous for nearly two hours at work this morning before finally eating some Cheerios and making a triumphant comeback to later stomach my lunch, I’ve decided to skip my planned three-mile run tonight.

That was the world’s longest, most convoluted excuse. I stand by it.

Friday (housewarming party) and Saturday (friend’s birthday dinner party) were both late nights, and Saturday-day (4.5 mile run) and Sunday-day (go-karting for my big bro’s birthday) were energy-sucking. My allergies have been acting up (hello, spring!) and I’ve felt more miserable today than I have since my last major illness (which, ick, was not all that long ago).

As much as I hate to skip tonight’s run, I’d rather recover a bit and give my all the rest of this week’s workouts than overextend myself tonight and then half-ass the whole week.

Healthy dinner. Early to bed. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. That’s the plan!
